Random Number in a Feed (for Pipes Maybe?) #

by why in inspect

If awesomeness were bricks, this post would have plenty bricks.

Mmmmm. RandFeed. That’s what I call my lunch.

Damn that’s such a cool idea – coding in colored pencil… anyway, since that’s not copy and pastable, here’s a pastie link

Yay for someone else having the

%w{thing_1 thing_2}.each{|x| do x}

love! I was chalking it up to my inexperience and eagerness to use cool constructs. Yay for validation! Oops for not having much to say about your kickass code, though.

pipes.yahoo.com

I like the new syntax highlighter.

Great idea for syntax highlighting—growning and diminishing ends.

What a great idea! I lerv Yahoo! Pipes. Nice little service to the community.

A way to get random numbers from my computer.

This will help me build The Next Layer above All The Other Layers.

said on

Very nice! To get random numbers from different sources, you can use the realrand module. It’s available as a gem.

Yeah, gotta avoid using Kernel#open when you’ve required both rubygems and open-uri, unless you’re still back on 0.9.2.

said on

without wsdl this will never make it in the enterprise.

Also, if awesomeness were bricks, the line at masonry school would be super damn long.

I totally love the presentation, but it seems satirical, as if we have to go to such lengths just to move a random number somewhere ;-) I’m hoping it wouldn’t be a stretch for any system requiring such numbers to just grab plain text directly!

said on

I very much approve. Is there a gem for the syntax-hilighting done that way?

said on

You very much ignore the “Warning you’re about to send the POSTDATA again” dialog.

(:

haha! now my joke makes no sense.

Oh well.. They rarely do.

I like to believe the regular expression delimiters are red for danger.

Guys (40-something Istanbul reader here), why do you talk funny? :-) Who are yous anyways?

When I discovered this site (more like when it exploded on my face) I thought “Who do they? Why aren’t themselves?” none of which made sense—not only grammatically but ontologically, as well.

Jeez, I’m old. English has been replaced with new dialects. Do they compile, though?

Cheers :-D
