Hello, my friends. A number segfaults have been discovered in Ruby 1.8.4. For example:

 $ ruby -e 'def a=.a=;end'
 $ ruby -ryaml -e 'YAML::load("!map:Test {}")'

I’ve been approached by David Heinemeier Hansson with this concern:

This is a major security issue. One that in my opinion warrants a new release of Ruby as soon as its fixed. We need to handle this with great care or it could turn into a huge PR fall (“Ruby And Rails Are Not Safe!!”).

Both of the above issues were patched in January. What are your feelings? Do the above issues (and others since) warrant a security release?
